Chengdu 🐼 Jianshantang, wabi-sabi Japanese style hotel recommendation

strategy2025/10/28

This small and beautiful hotel in Chengdu is worth booking, tested personally āœŒļø

Not far from Kuanzhai Alley, a ten-minute bike ride away. There’s no nearby subway station, but taxis are cheap in Chengdu, and shared bikes are perfect for early summer, so getting around isn’t an issue.

Each room has its own tea room, and the bathroom amenities are lemon verbena-scented—L’Occitane alternatives. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Every floor has a laundry room, making it friendly to all kinds of travel companions ā¤ļø

The breakfast is excellent. The dining area isn’t large but feels airy and bright, with a garden terrace where you can enjoy the outdoors 🤭 The selection isn’t huge, but the mix of Chinese and Western options—hot, cold, savory, and vegetarian—is well-balanced. Pair a hot American coffee with a bowl of mixed noodles and switch freelyļ½ž

Every evening, three snacks of your choice are delivered free of charge—very thoughtfulā—ļø

The only bug: Rooms facing the street are a bit noisy when the windows are open; those who sleep lightly should choose carefully šŸ’¤

Overall, I really like it and recommend it!
